This is obviously a comedy film one way this is possible to tell is due to the voice over, it begins by explaining the plot and explaining the problem, then it shows that the only person who can do something is ace ventura, it tries to hook the audience in by showing his personality rather than the plot itself. so its become apparent by the way that they explain the plot immediately that they are comedy comes from the character rather than the predicament he is in.
The high key lighting and the bouncy sounding voice over immediately gives off the impression of a comedy film than anything else. although it start by saying that two tribes are going to war the voice over isn't serious.
